Write to contact@tinnitusexplained.com. Corrections and source challenges get answered first.
What to write about
- A correction. If something here is factually wrong, this is the most useful message you can send. Point at the sentence and, if you can, at the source that contradicts it.
- A source worth reading. Research this site has missed, especially anything that contradicts what is published here.
- A question the site has not answered. These become articles. Most of what is published here started as someone’s specific, oddly-worded question.
- Press, or a professional who wants to weigh in. Audiologists and hearing professionals who think an article gets something wrong are especially welcome.
What cannot be answered
Anything about your particular case. Not out of rudeness, but because the author is an audio engineer and not a clinician, and answering would mean pretending otherwise. Questions like “what is causing my tinnitus”, “should I take X”, or “is this sound normal” need someone who can examine you.
If your tinnitus is pulsatile, started suddenly, affects one ear only, or arrived with hearing loss, dizziness, or pain, that is a reason to book an appointment rather than send an email.
